What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Corporate Accounting position at Epson America Inc?
Epson, a $10B global leader in high-quality consumer electronics, imaging, and point of sale printing devices, is seeking an exceptional Manager Corporate Accounting to join our Finance team. You will be responsible for leading the consolidated accounting close for Epson America, Inc. and its subsidiaries in North and Latin America. You will lead in the determination of accounting treatments and oversees compliance with Epson Group Financial and Accounting Standards. You will also manage various teams/functions located in the U.S., including Intercompany Accounting, Purchasing, and E-Store administration.
This position will be based out of Epson America's headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA with a hybrid schedule.
Principal Accountabilities
Principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Corporate Accounting
- Leads monthly accounting close for North America
- Main liaison with Seiko Epson accounting group, North and Latin America accounting teams and external and internal auditors
- Manage quarterly external financial audits and related financial reporting
- Leads and supports in the determination of accounting treatments affecting income statement and balance sheet.
- Oversees compliance with Epson Group Financial and Accounting Standards.
- Leads and supports monthly consolidation process and related reporting to Seiko Epson and internal management
- Provides governance over SAP financial master data
- Leads process for preparation and issuance of annual EAI standalone audited financial statements
Purchasing and E-Store Administration
- Provides leadership to the team responsible for purchasing and E-Store administration
- Processes and controls online credit card customer purchase activity
- Oversees vendor master maintenance, purchasing authorization, and signature authority matrix
- Oversees Concur and corporate credit card administration
Intercompany Accounting and Latin America Subsidiaries
- Provides leadership to the Assistant Accounting Manager and team
- Supports the timely and accurate reporting by Latin America subsidiaries
Accounts Payables
- Manages process for intercompany payments with Seiko Epson
- Reviews weekly payment batches
Relationship Management
- Responsible for hiring, motivating, evaluating, developing group/department personnel.
- Provides coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Advises management and provides recommendations on personnel and problem issues (that require escalation).
- Builds strong relationships within the organization and Senior Management
- Builds strong relationships with counterparts at SEC and at the subsidiaries
- Maintains professional relationships with peers in other corporations and outside organizations as needed.
Department Management
- Operates within budgetary constraints, participates in the development of annual budget forecasts; participates in updating and reconciling operating and budget plans as required.
- Develops and maintains written departmental standards and procedures.
- Directly contributes to development of tactical and annual operating plans, defining goals and objectives for the group.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 6-12 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree required
- CPA preferred
- Public Accounting audit experience
- Experience managing a team (direct reports)
- Experience with SAP preferred
The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $117,758and $161,917. Please note that this position's salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
