Quality Assurance Inspector I
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Epson is hiring for a quality assurance inspector who will work under direct supervision, inspecting finished goods against company and customer specifications. To be successful in this role, the individual must demonstrate excellent communication skills. This looks like written documentation/communications via email, messages or in person. This position would require someone to have a sharp eye for attention to detail which is used to identify any defects on product packaging. The Inspector is responsible for advocating Epsons quality standards as they inspect, audit, document and track manufactured products through varies stages of manufacturing.

Position Summary

The QA Inspector I will work under direct supervision while inspecting outbound finished goods against company and customer specifications. This role requires a self-starter with excellent communication skills and a keen attention to detail. The QA Inspector will advocate for company quality standards as they inspect, audit, document, and track manufactured products through various stages of manufacturing.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for performing testing and inspection at various stages of production including visual and dimensional inspection for cosmetic, mechanical, and functional defects; completing first-article inspections as well as receiving, in-process, final, and packaging inspections to support production
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance requirements during the inspections process, preparing the necessary paperwork to record product deficiencies and auditing processes as needed
  • Conduct manufacturing process audits to verify, review, and evaluate the manufacturing process and critical process monitors to established criteria, performing print tests and functional tests of product as needed
  • Responsible for performing a visual inspection of various chemicals and materials listed the companys Safety data Sheets (SDS)

Other Responsibilities

  • Follow company-wide safety programs, 5S initiatives, and ISO procedures
  • Provide consistent, high-quality output to ensure customer satisfaction and create value to exceed customer expectations
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required to accomplish essential functions of the job
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of industry best practices by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, visiting other manufacturing facilities, and participating in professional societies
  • Ensure confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent applicable education and work experience is required
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Basic PC skills are required, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, email, digital camera, and database applications
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with all levels of personnel
  • Work well under the pressure of deadlines
  • Actively participate in a team-oriented environment

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a warehouse, manufacturing and warehouse environment that is subject to moderate to high levels of noise, specialized safety equipment, moving mechanical parts, forklifts, and heavy equipment. This position will have exposure to and use of materials listed in the companys Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee conducts primarily medium work with constant periods of standing, walking, reaching, squatting, climbing, stooping, talking, listening, and visual inspection of documents and products. This position requires the ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on occasion with rare instances of pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds occasionally with machinery. Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers are required.
