SHIFT DETAILS:
2nd Shift Monday through Thursday 4:00pm to 230am
Shift differential 6%
POSITION SUMMARY: The position is primarily responsible for the following:
Works with Quality Team Lead; main duties include final inspections of repeat jobs and new product, fixtures, work pieces, machine parts, and assembled units for conformance to specifications. Inspection of these products will require using functional product gages, inspection instruments, and optical comparator. Inspectors document their inspections using customer-provided inspection requirements, and/ or EPTAM Precision quality requirements (quality IDT sheets) and inspection procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Performs less complicated first article and final inspections, and other inspection duties as assigned.
- Proficiently use all inspection equipment, optical comparator, and microhite.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and purchase orders.
- Read blueprints and basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (G.D. & T.)
- Trains new team members.
- Communicates well and in a professional manner with Quality Cell Lead, QC team members, shop personnel, management, and sub-contract suppliers.
- Makes recommendations to Quality Cell Lead on needed inspection materials, tools, and equipment necessary to function of Quality Control (QC).
- Recommends measures to improve inspection methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Works in calibration lab.
- Works with Quality Cell Lead to help meet quality needs of our customers and EPTAM Precision ISO system.
- Employee must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instruction. Can get along with co-workers or peers and respond appropriately to feedback from a supervisor in a professional manner.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- EDUCATION: High School diploma, general education degree (GED) and/or trade school graduate preferred.
- EXPERIENCE: 2 of years of related Quality Assurance/ QC experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with machine operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of optical comparator, and microhite.
- Able to interpret specifications and read blueprints.
- Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (G.D. & T.)
