Role and Responsibilities
Shaver Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment associated with the shaving operation.
Fully understand and perform all lockout / tagout requirements.
Completely and legibly annotate all required documentation.
Understand and be able to perform all fire and emergency shutdown procedures.
Understand and perform all preventive maintenance procedures related to the shaving operation.
Understand and be able to demonstrate the safe and proper use of all hand tools associated with the shaving operation.
Safely perform start-up operations of the shavings line.
Safely complete all shutdown operations for the shavings line.
Responsible for managing the rotary dryer in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensure all drying operations meet air permitting requirements.
Ensure shavings meet Equustock quality standards.
Monitor moisture levels of all shavings.
Safely clear all log jams from log decks.
Monitor all conveyors for proper operation.
Monitor the screener for proper operation and plugging.
Assist maintenance personal during all breakdowns and downtime.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED is required.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and have reliable transportation to and from work.
Ability to read, write and speak English and perform basic mathematical computations.
Must be able to lift 60 pounds and work in an industrial manufacturing setting.
