What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at Equifax?
Equifax is currently looking to hire a Litigation Paralegal to support the U.S. Litigation Department. This position reports to the Senior Litigation Project Manager and is responsible for partnering with and supporting the attorneys in the litigation department by performing various tasks related to the attorney’s internal high-volume caseload. This position interacts with other attorneys and paralegals on the team and assists with special projects and reporting as needed.
What You’ll Do:
- Support attorneys with specific tasks relating to lawsuits - Calendar case deadlines, draft pleadings, discovery, settlement agreements, and other case-related documents
- Correspond with opposing counsel, co-counsel, local counsel, and court offices as needed
- Conduct legal research, including of case law and court rules
- When needed, attend mediations and/or settlement conferences, potentially out-of-state, as the client representative
- File pleadings in state and federal court
Experience You Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree, a Paralegal certificate
- 3-5 years past experience working as a litigation paralegal in a law firm and/or an in-house legal department.
- 3-5 years of advanced experience with PC skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, and G Suite
- 3-5 years crafting excellent written communications and addressing team members at various levels, including business leaders.
