We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator / Technical Support Engineer for a part-time, contract position in the Los Angeles area. This role allows for a hybrid setup, with the ability to work remotely for certain tasks, but will require travel to client offices and data centers as needed.

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator / Technical Support Engineer for a part-time, contract position in the Los Angeles area. This role allows for a hybrid setup, with the ability to work remotely for certain tasks, but will require travel to client offices and data centers as needed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and review systems logs to ensure proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Conduct regular backup procedures to safeguard critical data.
- Install system updates, patches, and software to maintain security and performance.
- Resolve support request tickets efficiently while ensuring high-quality customer service.
- Configure, plan, and implement network infrastructure tasks, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Design, configure, implement, and support VoIP infrastructure for clients.
- Provide on-site support in client offices or data centers when required, alongside remote support as needed.
- 2-3 years of experience in Windows Desktop Support.
- 2-3 years of experience in on-premises Windows Server support.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server, Office 365, Azure AD, and Google Workspace Administration.
- Experience with TCP/IP network administration, including VPN configuration, routers, and firewalls.
- Experience with storage solutions and SAN/NAS technologies.
- Expertise in user and group policy management, as well as access control lists (ACL) management.
- Experience with PowerShell and command-line scripting to automate tasks and manage systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and independent work ethic.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing client relationships effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSA or MCSE (strongly preferred).
- Additional certifications in network management or cloud technologies are a plus.
