We are seeking a Sr. Business Analyst who is motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in supporting large information technology projects for one of our clients, who is located in Seattle.
The Business Analyst will fill a contract assignment for a senior-level business analyst with strong domain knowledge of utility real estate service management solutions, experience leading workshops, and skilled at engaging stakeholders.
Location : This position is located in Seattle, WA. Candidates in the area are preferred, but not necessary. Occasional travel may be required if not local.
Responsibilities :
- Utilize business analysis industry standard best practices to deliver change for SCL by eliciting needs, documenting requirements, and recommending solutions that provide value to stakeholders
- Conduct gap analysis workshops with the identified enterprise-wide key stakeholders to :
Understand and document the current solution context / persona, business processes, system context
Identify the primary business challenges / pain-pointsIdentify improvement opportunities through eliciting primary business challenges / pain-points vs. future business process improvement opportunitiesComplete gap analysis current state business processes and future solutionsResponsible for Business Analysis Planning & Monitoring, Elicitation, Requirements Management and Communication, Enterprise Analysis, Requirement Analysis Solution Assessment & ValidationWork closely with the Project Manager to identify and ensure alignment of opportunities with the City Light Mission and ValuesWork with Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) to attain alignment with the Utility Technology Roadmap for incremental business opportunitiesWork with the Solution Architect for alignment of technology and functionality with the City Light Blueprint.Provide recommendations for priorities, sequencing of opportunitiesEngage and work closely with business customers at all levels from front-line to Executive leadershipDevelop preliminary and detailed business requirements, use cases / user stories, software requirements, and process / workflow diagramsGather and evaluate information from multiple sources for project planning, requirements gathering, including interpreting high-level information; abstracting from low-level information to a general understanding; and evaluating user requests to perceive the underlying needs of the businessCommunicate requirements and opportunities to all levels of the organization and to audiences of varying degrees of technical knowledgeDevelop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the business processes and the associated IT systems as informed by business staffBusiness analysis, including completion of deliverables following the City Light PMO by project phasesRequired Business Analysis Skill Set

Bachelors Degree in Business or Computer Science, or equivalent education and / or experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for the required qualifications.Minimum of 7 years of business analysis experience implementing technology and business projectsExperience with business process modeling, workflows, and data analysisDemonstrated experience of cloud migration and / or replacement of legacy systemsDesired Qualifications :
Business Analyst Certification (CCBA or CBAP)Skilled in facilitating requirements gathering sessions with large groups with diverse perspectives; ability to bring groups to consensusExperience writing project documentation and deliverablesExperience engaging with all levels of management including senior level executivesAbility to build trust and engagement with project team and business stakeholdersStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExperience with organizational change managementExperience with Performance Metrics, development and monitoring
