What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse position at Equiliem?
Summary of Need :
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will care for people with intellectual and / or developmental disabilities, such as Down syndrome and Cerebral palsy. You would be involved in the treatment of people with developmental disabilities under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Job duties include, but are not limited to :
- Administer medications and injections.
- Perform tube feedings.
- Hang IVs
- Collect blood samples, if certified for venipuncture.
- Provide colostomy care.
- Observe patients and report changes in their condition.
- Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
- Obtain specimens for analysis and perform other medical procedures as ordered by a physician.
- Prepare and apply simple dressings.
- Bathe and feed; and care for people and their homes by performing such tasks as making beds, changing linen, lifting and moving people and caring for their personal effects.
Qualifications :
Hours : 8 to 12 hours shifts available. To be discussed more at interview.
Mostly Evenings, and Nights available, but will consider Day shift as well.
Every other weekend, with some holidays.
Length of Assignment : Up to 2 years.
