This is typically a Assignment with significantly more authority and responsibility at this Assignment level. It should be selected to recognize differences which are not enough to be represented by a separate Assignment level, such as increased proficiency in skills/competencies to perform responsibilities, greater impact to the business unit, customer, segment, geography, etc. May also provide guidance or leadership to other Associates.

Marketing is the management function in the organization that provides consumer driven strategic direction. It uses data driven analysis to identify the growth drivers on which the organization should focus, centered around three priority areas: creating scale to generate margin for investment, strengthening memory structures to be more mentally available and so more readily chosen by shoppers and improving physical availability to interrupt shoppers and remind them to purchase. As well as developing the long term strategies, marketing is responsible for the development and execution of the annual brand plans, focusing on innovative ways to tell the brand story through communications and in store activation, and then share global best practices in these areas. It works with R& D on the identification of the right innovation growth pipeline which can remove barriers to penetration and unlock value.

Roles in this Assignment Family are responsible for developing marketing communication materials by creative design and writing to effectively build mental availability for the company's products and services; understand and use the brands distinctive assets consistently to build mental availability and apply the Mars marketing code; develop and coordinate multimedia packages by using the three principles behind Mars media philosophy: mass audience, maximum reach, more weeks to develop reach based media plans that build brand penetration; understand emerging/digital channels and platforms and their role in building effective and efficient reach; responsible for creating test and learn strategies for emerging channels that ensure Mars stays at the leading edge; responsible for developing and executing coherent social media strategies.
Event Management
Event Management work is focused on planning and coordinating the logistics of industry and customer conferences, congresses, and events to increase product/brand awareness including:
Planning events (e.g., identifying/negotiating price for event space, determining event agendas, coordinating event marketing, etc.)
Setting up exhibition space and displaying promotional materials (e.g., brochures, product samples/demonstrations, coupons, branded merchandise, etc.)
Coordinating event catering, entertainment, and company speakers/representation at booths, demonstrations;
Managing program budgets and measuring lead generation resulting from events.
