What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker position at Equiliem?
Summary of Need :
The facility is a secure psychiatric center, operated by Mental Health that provides comprehensive forensic mental health services for the restoration of competency and the assessment and treatment of persons with dangerous mental illness. Recovery and hope are promoted through the efforts of the interdisciplinary treatment teams within a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment in which freedom from violence and coercion is a guiding principle.
The Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker functions as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team providing a full range of Social Work services to patients receiving treatment on a ward in a Psychiatric Center. The Social Worker is also expected to participate in committee groups and assist in developing programs for patients. Social Workers are expected to provide training and supervision for entry level Social Work professional staff and student interns.
Social Worker duties included but not limited to :
- Completion of medical record documentation within required designated timeframes.
- Maintain medical record documentation.
- Participate in assigned meetings : Treatment plan meetings (including 730 / 330 rounds), Daily morning rounds,
- Candidate must be a licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Therapeutic Community Meetings, Case Reviews, Incident debriefings in the absence of the Program Coordinator / Treatment team leader.
Hours : Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
Length of Contract : Up to 2 years.
