Summary of Job Responsibilities
Client is currently seeking a Machine Operator - 3rd Shift. This position is based at our Kearney, NE location. The primary function of the Machine Operator is to set up, operate and/or tend a bank of machines meeting specification to produce high quality parts for our customers. They will also adjust equipment controls to regulate flow of production materials.
In this function you will:
Follows safety policies and procedures in the performance of listed daily functions
Monitors banks of machines, visually checking and gauging parts to ensure machines are running to specifications and free of defects
Completes paperwork, datalogs, and SPC charts as required to ensure proper dimensions are set on each machine
Reads process sheets to verify as aspects of assigned operation including blueprint dimensions, required tooling, machine parameters, and control plan information
Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions and continually adjust machines, tooling, and wheels to keep parts within allowable tolerances
Assists in maintenance and changeover of machinery and changes worn machine accessories such as cutting tools and grinding wheels
Position Criteria:
Blueprint reading
Fork truck operation
Ability to setup machinery
Ability to read process sheets.
Visual inspection of cold and hot parts
Ability to lift up to 50 LBS
Repetitive motion; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
Position requires exposure to graphite lube and heat
Must wear safety glasses, ear plugs and steel or composite shoes for entire shift
Position may require daily overtime, 7 days a week and working holidays
Physical requirements include constantly being on your feet. The employee would be working in extreme heat in the summer.
