POSITION SUMMARY
The Division Controller (DC) works within a matrix organization and reports directly to the Vice President of EQ Solutions (solid line) and to the Equipment Depot Corporate Finance team (dotted line). EQ Solutions, a division of Equipment Depot, is a full-service provider and single source for efficient warehouse design and automation solutions engineered to help customers increase storage space, maximize throughput, improve productivity and lower labor costs – from warehouse racking and storage to conveyor systems, automated guided vehicles and more.
The Division Controller is a passionate advocate for the business and keeps EQ Solutions focused on organizational performance to meet both the annual budget, and support the division’s long-term strategy. The DC is a pivotal member of the EQ Solutions Leadership team and serves as a business partner to the Vice President of EQ Solutions on strategic and tactical matters as they relate to finance. The DC is depended upon to provide timely and critical financial and operational information, and to make actionable strategy and operations recommendations. This role combines financial expertise with strategic thinking, focusing on tracking projects and financial progress, ensuring effective internal controls processes, staying on top of billing and accounts receivables, and compiling and presenting critical financial data. The DC plays a crucial role in maintaining EQ Solutions' financial health and aligning it with the division's expansion plans

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting required. Master's Degree and/or CPA preferred.
Experience: 5 years of experience in financial management roles within a project-based environment.
Computer Skills: Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Excel. Ability to learn & operate all relevant programs used by the organization.
Other Requirements: Strong understanding of contract-based accounting and project accounting principles. Ability to deliver clear and concise written and verbal presentations. Must be able to effectively communicate with people operating at all levels of the company in a variety of situations. Knowledge and experience with Construction accounting / project accounting (POC) as well as a background or experience in cost control is favored.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Collaborate with the leadership in providing insightful analysis of financial results to senior management.
- Collaborate closely with EQ Solutions Leadership to ensure financial alignment with objectives and goals.
- Prepare annual budgets and regular forecasts that provide the necessary color and insight and in compliance with the company’s reporting requirements.
- Track financial progress of projects at various stages of the project lifecycle.
- Utilize contract-based accounting and project accounting principles for accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct analytical reviews of operations, examining balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows.
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements for EQ Solutions, including in-depth analytical reviews.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist in coordinating external audits and examinations.
- Supervise and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate coding and classification of transactions. Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
- Maintain stringent cost controls over operating expenditures to support financial efficiency.
- Ensure timely and precise completion of monthly account reconciliations relevant to EQ Solutions' financials.
- Identify and recommend strategies for sales and cost improvements to enhance financial performance and profitability.
- Collaborate with EQ Solutions Leadership and Corporate Finance to enhance processes and reporting.
- Manage and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial records and transactions.
- Oversee billing and accounts receivable processes to help ensure timely collections.
- Compile and present financial data from various sources within the organization.
- Support EQ Solutions' month-end business review process by providing value-added information and analysis.
- Effectively communicate financial performance and address business issues as needed. Respond to ad-hoc reporting, budgeting, forecasts, and general requests.
- Contribute to strategic discussions and planning, providing valuable financial insights.
- Assess and contribute to risk management strategies.
- All other duties as assigned.
