The Corporate Accounting Manager is a hands-on accounting role, handling daily accounting and finance responsibilities. This position requires the ability to work independently and autonomously on a wide range of financial duties including accounting, reporting, analyses, GAAP, and internal policies and procedures.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Oversee financial reporting, budgets, compliance, facilitate audits, implement effective internal controls, optimizing cash flow and manage accounting staff of Mexico ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations
- Manage projects designed to improve processes and efficiency both in Mexico and US based operations
- Work collaboratively on corporate accounting projects
- Serve as liaison to external auditors in Mexico
- Works with Business Applications, vendors, consultants, and contractors
- Represent the company at any supplier, vendor, or industry events.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adheres to all policies and procedures as directed in the employee handbook/
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
Skills and Experience
- Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken Spanish
- Hands on experience in a similar capacity with a Mexico based business or multination with offices in Mexico
- Hands on experience with general ledger, monthly closing procedures, monthly issuance of financial statements and analytical reports
- Prior experience defining and refining internal procedures
- Experience with internal controls
- Extensive experience with GAAP accounting
- Solid technical knowledge related to work assignments and willingness to take ownership of all accounting functions
- Strong general ledger knowledge
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, critical/analytical thinking, and computer skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management, clients and vendors
- B.S. in Accounting, MBA or CPA preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to flex communication style with technical and non-technical users.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to make important decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to successfully pass required background check and pre-employment drug testing.
- Up to 20% travel including travel to Mexico, requires a valid driver's license and ability to meet requirements of the Company Driver Policy; Company will review motor vehicle records annually for all employees for whom driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function or when employees must obtain and drive rental vehicles while conducting company business.
