Job Summary: Employment & Litigation Counsel will provide strategic legal guidance on complex employment and corporate litigation matters. This role requires expertise in employment law, risk management, and litigation strategy, with the ability to collaborate with senior leadership, HR, and cross-functional teams to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance while supporting business growth. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with extensive experience managing high-stakes legal matters, advising executives, and leading resolution of employment-related matters.

Duties/Responsibilities
Employment Law & Compliance:
- Advise HR and leadership on employment law, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
- Provide strategic legal guidance while mitigating risks.
- Ensure policies comply with evolving federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Develop and oversee employment policies, handbooks, and best practices.
- Conduct internal investigations.
- Advise senior leadership on employment and other legal matters.
- Manage all types of litigation, agency investigations, and court proceedings.
- Direct outside counsel on disputes and litigation.
- Oversee legal matters from assessment to resolution.
- Collaborate with HR and compliance teams to minimize risks.
- Provide guidance on workplace investigations and policy violations.
- Conduct interviews, draft legal documents, and manage case files.
- Oversee e-discovery, responses to subpoenas, legal holds, and evidence collection.
- Communicate complex legal matters to key stakeholders.
- Manage litigation budget and outside counsel billing.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify legal concepts.
- Expertise in employment laws (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA).
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Business acumen, urgency, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Active Bar license with at least 10 years of experience.
- Experience with e-discovery and legal technology is a plus
- Preference for those with prior in-house experience.
- Ability to sit for long periods and work on a computer.
