CLINIC NURSE MANAGER

The Opportunity:
Equipoise Healthcare is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dynamic Clinic Nurse Manager to lead our Pediatric Specialty Clinic Team. The Clinic Nurse Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the clinic staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and maintaining efficient and effective clinic operations. This role combines leadership, clinical expertise, direct patient care, and administrative duties to support the clinic's mission, goals, and objectives.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Staff Management:
- Provides direct oversight and day-to-day leadership to the clinic team to promote a sense of cohesiveness and effective team interactions across disciplines, while promoting efficient operations and positive patient experience and engagement.
- Schedules staff and coordination of services to maintain workflow continuity as appropriate to ensure adherence to quality standards, and best practice standards.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to clinic personnel, ensuring adherence to clinic policies and procedures.
- Assist in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding new staff members; conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with staff, coaching sessions, performance reviews and year-end evaluations as applicable for assigned staff.
- Implement professional development opportunities for staff as applicable.
Clinic Operations:
- Develop and manage clinic staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for patient care.
- Ensure staff maintain accurate recording and tracking of essential clinic functions, i.e., EMR documentation, correspondence, reports, consents, orders/referrals, no-shows, etc.
- Oversee the delivery of patient care services, ensuring best practices, patient safety, and high-quality care standards.
- Assists in direct patient care as required, especially in high-demand or critical situations.
- Monitor patient flow within the clinic, coordinating with providers to ensure timely and efficient care as well as overall clinic flow.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, medication/vaccine administration, and other clinical standards.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations and clinic protocols.
Administrative Duties:
- Collaborate with clinic leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and protocols (SOPs).
- Ensure that the clinic operates in compliance with all healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and legal requirements.
- Manage budget and resources for the nursing department, including inventory and supplies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction surveys to enhance the clinic’s services.
- Assist in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new nursing staff.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between clinic staff, physicians, patients, vendors, and other professionals.
- Address patient concerns or complaints and work to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Facilitate communication between interdisciplinary teams to promote collaborative care.
- Provide all other duties as assigned by clinic leadership.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration and/or Business preferred.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas.
- Active BLS and PALS certifications.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in a Pediatric clinic or Outpatient Care environment is highly preferred.
- Skilled with intravenous infusions, vaccines, injections, venipuncture, and first aid in babies and children is highly preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, written and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, nursing practices, and patient safety standards.
- Proficient with electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, Monday - Friday from approximately 9 am to 5 pm (hours subject to change).
- Primarily based in a clinic setting but may require hospital visits and travel for continuing education.
- Exposure to various clinical environments, patient populations, and medical conditions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift or move patients and equipment, as necessary.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move between areas of the clinic for extended periods.
