About the Facility : This large family and canine friendly facility in downtown Houston is an absolute gem, with wooded acreage, vast polo fields, and a thriving Hunter / Jumper Lesson, Summer Camp, and Boarding Program. With Great Southwest Equestrian Center in their backyard, there is no need to travel all over the country to reach the best of the best , happiness, and being a family friendly environment are the top priorities of this operation, with 5 assistants, and hundreds of stalls on property, developing the sport's next equine generation should be the primary focus of our ideal candidate for the Head Hunter / Jumper Trainer. Our current head trainer has decided that it is time to wind down a bit and we are softly looking to fill her very big shoes in Spring , but rather find the right person, equestrian, and personality for this dynamic and energetic team. The facility focuses on three disciplines, English, Western, and Polo for a wide variety of lesson students of all ages. Education is covered in Hunter / Jumper / Eq, Eventing, Dressage, Ranch Riding, Reining, and up to 2 goal Polo. Job Description : We are beginning a soft search for an experienced Hunter Jumper Trainer who prioritizes teamwork, horsemanship, and community over USEF Finals, and big fancy horse shows, and winter seasonal relocation. While you will have clients that show at the top levels of Texas Hunter / Jumper events, your focus will be based on developing the next generation of true horsemen and women, fostering community, and living a more laid back lifestyle while mostly home year round. You will assist in the unification and team building of a wide variety of assistants, staff, and horse owners, and assist overseeing the care of a herd of beloved lesson and lease horses, as well as a group of boarded equines. Here's the REALLY cool part! This facility has a whole office team including marketing, admin, bookkeeping, billing, contract management, scheduling and operations! You don't have to think twice about scheduling, bookkeeping, management, technology, logistics, contracts, or record keeping. You main and sole focus is to develop riders, teach lessons, be a great teamplayer, and an even better leader and mentor to young equestrians and athletes. AND you get a work life balance! What the heck! 5 day work week with consideration for your time and effort towards other projects and events. Like we touched on before though, this isn't a typical A show Head Trainer Role. This is a personality first, teamwork first, more home based career path. We are looking for someone who just loves to teach and working with some fabulous people and isn't wanting the chaos of running your own equine operation or working for a mega H / J show facility any longer.Requirements : - Strong Understanding of the H / J Market and Teaching through 3'6" Level- Confident Upper Level Hunter / Jumper Rider- Active and Dynamic Instructor that Prioritizes Horsemanship- Enjoys Being Part of a Team- Ready to Enjoy a 5 Day Work Week and Less Business Operational Duties- A Great Leader and Mentor- Kind, Gentle, Family-Forward, Organized, and Energetic- "Nothing is Below Me" Attitude- A Plus if you have experience in Polo or Western Lessons as well!
