What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Processor position at Equitable Savings and Loan Association?
Position Purpose
The Loan Processor is responsible for processing the application from start to closing in accordance with regulations and guidelines. Positive and active support of the Association, customer and all co-workers is highly valued. Knowledge of excel and computer skills along with the ability to multitask is also highly valued.
Essential Duties
Initial setup of loans into the company’s system. Enter information into the LP and GUS systems. Create and send to the branch all disclosures within the required time frames. Generate and send all required verifications, appraisal and title orders. Complete change of circumstance, rate locks, deny and withdrawals within the required time frames. Update files with the verified data, review for completeness and accuracy for closing handoff. Assist with the closing process.
Other Duties
Process change of circumstance to update existing loans within required timelines. Process withdrawals and denials within required time frames.
Assists Loan Operations Department with a number of duties as required.
Decision Making
Loan processors are trained to make certain decisions regarding workflow, time management, and criteria for data entry. They rely on the loan originator and underwriter for decisions on the loan.
Financial Authority
The loan processor has no financial authority.
Communication
Communicates directly to title companies, banks, and employers. Internally communicates to Branch Managers, QC department, other members of loan operations department and supervisor.
Results of Actions
Errors as a data processor can cost the institution not only financial losses, but can delay processing the loan and result in loss of reputation.
Supervisory Authority
This position has no supervisory authority.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The successful data processor will have basic computer skills, and possess mental acuity to learn the processes and procedures of the institution. There is also a degree of interpersonal skills required to interact well with customers and co-workers. This is an entry level position.
Working Conditions
This is an office position with regular daytime hours, Monday through Friday.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.81 - $17.25 per hour
