Equitable is seeking an influential and dynamic Vendor Engagement Manager to join our Disability and Absence Claims organization. This position will serve as EB Claims Operation point of contact, escalation, and invoice liaison for Third Party Administration (TPA), BPO, and Vendors. It will provide responsive and pro-active support to internal and external parties as it relates to those relationships. This role will be responsible for the management of TPA invoice processing, escrow funding, payment/loss data reconciliations and TPA system access controls. This position works independently with TPA business partners, internal operations, and leadership.


Key Job Responsibilities


This role will be responsible for the management and oversight of operational support including invoice processing, escrow funding, payment/loss data reconciliations and TPA/BPO/Vendor system access controls.


  • Vendor Management: Conduct regular stewardship meetings with vendor/TPA/BPO partners to ensure that all parties are meeting the requirements of the claim service agreements. Ensures claims are processed accurately within regulatory and company guidelines. Process TPA invoices in a timely manner, identifying gaps and collaborating with management to resolve items with best business practices in mind. Manage funding requests, including quarterly evaluations, to ensure funding requests are appropriate and controlled within funding guidelines. Perform monthly reconciliations of related bank accounts.
  • Client Relationships: Fosters strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and ensure high levels of satisfaction. Addresses and resolves any client issues or concerns promptly. Act as primary group/internal liaison for the TPA/BPO/Vendor and/or escalated customer issues. Identify gaps, proactively communicate corrective actions, and ensure outcomes are achieved. Analyze and effectively communicate broader operations aspects, changes to process, and ensure all training requirements are met.
  • Compliance: Ensures all claims processes comply with relevant laws and regulations. Stays current regarding updated changes in legislation and adjusts processes accordingly. Coordinate all audits: regulatory, internal, customer and technical claim file reviews. This coordination will require an understanding of the claims business as well as the financial controls necessary to manage the TPA/BPO/Vendor relationship. Communicate and monitor new law compliance and ensure ongoing regulatory requirements are being met.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborates with internal departments, external partners, and other key stakeholders to execute a market-leading claims management experience. Use professional communication skills to proactively facilitate discussions around concerns and manage updates to successful completion with limited direction.
  • Support: Offer subject matter support to all internal and external partners, providing analysis and recommendations with each interaction.
  • Execute activities related to Equitable Vendor Management Framework and other corporate requirements.


The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $140,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications


  • 5 years experience in Employee Benefits / Group Insurance Claims
  • 5 years experience in disability, voluntary and/or life claims. Dental and vision are a plus.
  • Demonstrable analytical skills.
  • Background working with agreements, invoices, and financial reconciliations.
  • Direct client relationship management experience: including the ability to independently manage high profile strategic relationships.

  • Strong understanding of technology and industry trends
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable dealing with complexity and ambiguity and able to explore multiple solutions
  • Previous experience with FINEOS Claims software platform preferred, but not required
  • Sound judgment in making critical business decisions.
  • Ability to analyze data, determine root cause, and provide and/or develop an appropriate solution for resolution.
  • Flexible, adaptive, and comfortable in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work under pressure, think analytically and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral (with internal and external business partners)
