The Senior Strategic Financial Analyst is a member of the Pricing, Insights and Analytics team within the Wealth Management organization. In this highly visible role, you will have the opportunity to shape business decisions and strategy through business insights gained from the development of analytics and models.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Support in the development of Equitable’s strategic objectives to ensure its continued discipline for growth and profitability.
- Financial analysis, including reviewing all aspects of advisor compensation design and performance
- Build financial models that help forecast business outcomes under various scenarios
- Support assumption development for forecasting models
- Analyze data to provide strategic insights; identify issues, structure problems, and generate actionable recommendations using formal problem-solving frameworks and critical thinking
- Research competitors in the market to provide management with meaningful analysis to benchmark advisor margins vs. peers
- Create dashboards with actionable metrics to help manage and understand trajectory of business
- Develop presentations for senior/executive management which provide insight and recommendations on complex financial topics
- A successful candidate will be expected to manage multiple, complex assignments and competing priorities, and must be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment. This high-performing team works with a results-driven approach and transparent communication.
The base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $90,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Business
- 3 years experience working in a financial/business analyst role and/or internal/external strategy
- Established Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills to manipulate, model and analyze large/complex volumes of data
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance/Financial licenses, Six Sigma, Project Management, CPA, CFA and/or actuarial certification
- Technical, analytical and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems and drive change
- Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including senior management
- Proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations that synthesize complex problems and recommended solutions
- Experience creating the financial story/story-telling results
- Prioritization skills with a clear focus on results
- Initiative-taking and self-directed work style who seeks regular proactive feedback from supervisor
- Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines and work within a fast paced, project driven and team environment.
- Knowledge of and passion for the financial services industry

Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Financial Forecasting and Modeling: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.
Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
