How You’ll Contribute:
As an Application Development Manager, you will lead and oversee a team of IT professionals, driving the development and support of innovative technology solutions. Collaborating closely with internal teams, you’ll design, implement, and maintain systems that align with business goals while adhering to industry best practices. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in solving complex challenges and shaping the future of EquiTrust’s technological landscape.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage IT professionals, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and career development.
- Analyze complex business problems and guide the development of system solutions to address them.
- Design and maintain functional components of key systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to design and implement technology configurations.
- Maintain adherence to standards for development techniques, documentation, and testing.
- Recommend and integrate new technologies to enhance system functionality and performance.
- Support resource planning and training initiatives to build a high-performing team.
- Provide expert guidance to resolve system failures and ensure continuous improvement.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.
What You’ll Bring:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in system development, with 7 years preferred in managing or developing IT systems required.
- 3 years of experience in a Lean-Agile environment required (5 years preferred).
- Experience in insurance or financial services data processing is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of Lean-Agile principles and application development.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making within complex IT environments.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities to develop team potential.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a commitment to inclusivity.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Work primarily off-site with infrequent travel (less than 5%).
