How You’ll Contribute:
As a Claims Senior Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and processing annuity and life insurance claims, including incontestable claims and living benefit requests. You will work closely with third-party underwriting teams, investigation units, and internal departments such as Regulatory Compliance and Actuarial to ensure timely and accurate claim processing. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills who is committed to delivering excellent customer service.
What You’ll Do:
- Process and examine annuity and life insurance claims from receipt to payment.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with state regulations.
- Handle escalated inquiries and complex claims independently or with leadership guidance.
- Conduct quality analysis of claims to maintain high service standards.
- Identify and propose workflow improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Participate in system enhancement testing and provide feedback for corrections.
- Train new team members on processes, procedures, and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with agents, claimants, and beneficiaries.
- Monitor outstanding claims and send follow-up correspondence.
- Assist with internal audits and additional projects as needed.
What You’ll Bring:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of claims experience required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in life insurance and/or annuities preferred.
- Experience with annuity claims transactions is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage escalated calls with professionalism and composure.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn proprietary systems.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work with a computer.
- Occasional walking, reaching, and bending as needed.
