How You’ll Contribute:
As a Claims Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting life insurance claims processing by examining beneficiary designations, ensuring compliance with state due diligence requirements, and indexing claims accurately. This role will work closely with internal teams, agents, and external stakeholders to provide a seamless claims experience. We are looking for candidates who are detail-oriented, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and are committed to delivering excellent customer service.
What You’ll Do:
- Examine and index life insurance claims documents accurately.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations related to due diligence and claims processing.
- Verify and analyze beneficiary designations and supporting documentation.
- Conduct address and Social Security Number verifications using Accurint searches.
- Communicate professionally with agents, claimants, and internal teams regarding claims inquiries.
- Interpret policy contract language to assess claims eligibility and next steps.
- Identify and escalate complex issues, collaborating on solutions when no precedent exists.
- Participate in system enhancements, including testing and process improvement initiatives.
- Train new team members on claims processes and industry regulations.
- Support the broader Policy Administration team as needed.
What You’ll Bring:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- 6 months of death claims processing experience preferred.
- 1 year of life insurance experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in customer interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn proprietary systems.
- Adaptability and ability to work effectively in changing environments.
