JOB OVERVIEW
The Compliance Analyst reports directly to the Senior Compliance Officer and collaborates with other departments, including Risk Management, Legal, Operations, and Trading, to ensure the Company remains compliant with external obligations and internal compliance policies. The Compliance Analyst also interacts with senior leadership and committees, manages compliance-related projects, and ensures the implementation of recommended corrective action plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Conducts periodic account reviews and regular transaction monitoring, for adherence to AML regulatory obligations.
- Monitors internal and external electronic communications for policy violations and customer complaints.
- Maintains documentation of customer complaints and supports the firm’s regulatory obligation to file complaints with FINRA.
- Assists in preparing and reviewing supervisory reports as outlined in the WSPs and ensures adequate retention for books and records.
- Collaborates with departments such as Risk Management, Legal, Operations, and Trading on compliance initiatives.
- Monitors and analyzes regulatory updates to ensure timely adoption of best practices and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Assists with new associate registrations with FINRA and ensuring associates provide the required annual disclosures.
- Responsible for reviewing associates outside brokerage accounts.
- Provides support during external regulatory audits (SEC, FINRA) and ensures compliance procedures are followed.
- Identifies and follows up on compliance issues requiring investigation or corrective actions.
- Reviews regulatory resources (bulletins, trade journals, news publications, websites, etc.) to remain informed of industry developments.
- Provides guidance on corrective actions or risk mitigation strategies and ensures proper implementation.
- Delivers ongoing education to personnel regarding firm policies and procedures.
- Assists the compliance department in ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting obligations, including CAT, CAT CAIS, TRACE and MSRB.
- Provides support on regulatory requests and special projects.
- Assists associates with compliance-related questions or concerns assignments
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant compliance experience in the brokerage or financial services industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FINRA, SEC, and state rules and regulations.
- Solid understanding of financial products and brokerage/investment advisory services.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and resolve complex problems, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and trends.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
- Active Series 7 securities license (or ability to acquire within 3 months of hire)
- Additional certifications such as ACAMS or other compliance-related credentials are welcomed and supported by the firm.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Experience with compliance-related platforms and tools, including FIS, Lexis Nexis, and Smarsh or other electronic monitoring services.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with FINRA Gateway
- Experience with CRM platforms, such as Salesforce.
- Familiarity with data analysis or visualization tools a plus.

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to speak and hear. The associate is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. This job requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
