Position Summary:
The Financial Education Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Financial Education with the management and administration of the Full Circle of Financial Education Program at Equity Now, Inc. and Legends Charter School. The Financial Education Coordinator will teach the financial education curriculum to the students and families of Legends Charter School.
Essential Duties & Job Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides Financial Literacy curriculum documents and resources for the Legends Charter School Financial Education program.
- Supports and delivers financial literacy education to Legends Charter School Scholars, grades Kindergarten through 3.
- Develops, implements, and supports the Equity Now Full Circle Financial Education Curriculum.
- Assists the Director of Financial Education with community workshops and seminars.
- Creates, collects, and distributes financial literacy materials and information.
- Assure all financial education resources are available online.
- Collaborates with Director to foster and develop community-based and national partnerships aligned with financial education.
- Assess and documents engagement, participation, and effectiveness of financial literacy education.
- Uses data to make recommendations for improving the program and designs and monitors programs for intervention and support needs.
- Assist with plans and implements special events for students that will encourage, guide, and educate them on the different choices available in the areas of Financial Literacy.
- Manages Investment Buddy Program.
- All other duties as assigned.
Legends Charter School teachers are Prince George’s County Public School (PGCPS) employees. Eligiblity for this position therefore, is contingent upon being hired as a PGCPS Substitute Teacher and clearance of PGCPS background investigation and/or reference checks, if any.
Minimum Qualification (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Must successfully demonstrate the following competencies: organized, detail oriented, conflict resolution, communication, accountable, judgment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- 5 years’ experience in a financial management position
- Proven strategic planning experience at the management level
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, SharePoint
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and presentation skills
