The Mortgage Compliance and Quality Control Analyst reports directly to the Compliance Manager and works under their guidance to uphold the integrity of Equity Smart’s compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and quality control standards. This role demands a high level of independent decision-making, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional time management skills to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and the seamless execution of quality control processes. As a key contributor to Equity Smart’s commitment to excellence, the Jr. Analyst will play a pivotal role in identifying, mitigating, and preventing potential compliance risks while supporting the organization’s growth and operational integrity.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Compliance Monitoring and Auditing
- Conduct audits of loan files, real estate transactions, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations.
- Monitor company activities for adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and licensing standards.
- Identify and report any instances of non-compliance, discrepancies, or areas of potential risk.
Quality Control
- Perform quality control reviews to ensure accurate and compliant processing of transactions.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of loan and real estate files, including disclosures, income documentation, and underwriting approvals.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to address and resolve quality control issues promptly.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain organized records of audits, findings, and corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing detailed reports for management on compliance and quality control performance.
- Track trends and recurring issues to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Regulatory Support
- Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and provide updates to the Compliance Manager and other stakeholders.
- Assist in responding to regulatory audits, inquiries, or examinations by preparing requested documentation and supporting evidence.
- Ensure timely filing of necessary reports and documentation to meet compliance deadlines.
Policy and Process Development
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance and quality control policies and procedures.
- Provide input on process improvements to enhance efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in the review and updating of company forms, templates, and disclosures to ensure compliance with changing regulations.
Collaboration and Training
- Work closely with loan officers, processors, and real estate agents to ensure they understand and follow compliance standards.
- Assist in delivering training sessions or materials on compliance and quality control requirements.
- Serve as a resource for team members to answer compliance-related questions.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and recommend solutions to minimize exposure.
- Monitor trends in audit findings and implement strategies to prevent recurring issues.
- Escalate significant compliance risks or findings to the Compliance Manager promptly.
General Support
- Participate in team meetings, regulatory updates, and training sessions as required.
- Assist the Compliance Manager with special projects or initiatives related to compliance and quality control.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the compliance and quality control functions effectively.
Salary : $55,000 - $75,000
