Position: Natural Gas Advisor - Storage Optimization
Location: Houston, TX 77079
Duration: 1 Year contract to start, potential of extension and/or conversion to FTE.
Rate: $60-70/Hr
Start Date: ASAP
Specific Duties:
Advisor – Storage Optimization
- Support the optimization of US natural gas storage assets. The current portfolio has a capacity greater than 153 billion cubic feet of natural gas and generates more than ~$200MM in revenue on an annual basis.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with outage coordinators, natural gas control room operators and other stakeholders to serve as an intermediary between field operations, capacity planning, gas control and commercial services regarding daily capacity, maintenance, and outages
- Monitor performance of storage assets daily to:
o Evaluate physical capabilities (injection, withdrawal, wheeling) of assets
o Publish priorities for withdrawal and injection for Enbridge gas control
o Publish updated customer postings related to storage facility outages
o Approve storage deals in Enbridge’s LINK application system
o Implement restrictions to customer storage nominations
- Develop, upload and maintain documentation (storage operating modes, procedures, manuals and presentations)
- Evaluate historical nominations and pressures to support evaluation of storage field expansion opportunities.
- Provide commercial input for outage planning process. Strategizes, prioritizes, and optimizes system outages to ensure they are completed safely, efficiently and to minimize overall impact to system customers. Work closely with Gas Control, Integrity, Capacity Scheduling and Regions to develop detailed outage planning process and ensure commercial group has updated information on schedule. Includes clearly articulating outage impacts to commercially oriented individuals and finding opportunities to improve outage schedule with internal/external partners.
- This is a fast-paced work environment in an “Operations Type” role requiring strong communication, organizational and prioritization skills. Constantly changing dynamics on the pipeline system, weather, markets and physical operations of facilities require monitoring to optimize the storage assets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Advanced proficiency in Office 365 applications
- Driver’s License
Preferred:
- 1 – 3 years of natural gas industry experience
- 1 – 3 years of process flow diagrams and process & instrumentation diagrams experience
- 1 – 3 years of data analytics experience
o (e.g., Microsoft PowerBI, Get & Transform, SQL Queries)
