JOB OVERVIEW
The Human Resources Representative acts as a liaison between human resources (HR) and the business. They work to ensure that HR practices support the organization's goals. Promotes compliance with established policies and procedures and applicable labor/employment laws and regulations. Manages day to day office operations for the Ft. Myers location.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Oversees daily operations of remote site and its various departments in coordination with the home office in Westlake, Ohio
- Responsible for Emergency Preparedness and Incident Response
- Coordinates office events
- Provides point-of-contact for site vendors and building management
- Represents Equity’s brand via community service projects, company-sponsored philanthropy efforts and professional networking
- Involved in executing engagement surveys and action planning to address gaps
- Partners with human resources teams and business leaders to implement and evaluate associate engagement strategies
- Coordinates with the Communications specialist to inform current and prospective associates, promote engagement, advance business strategy, and strengthen Equity Trust culture
- Contribute to the development of HR policy and strategy
- Work closely with an organization’s leaders and human resources department to identify leadership development needs and create strategic solutions for improving skills across the entire company
- Educates supervisors/managers on performance factors, change management, development plans, and any other alternative solutions
- Assesses the success of development plans and guides associates to make the most of learning opportunities
- Participates in annual talent assessment to identify learning needs and associate competencies, and distinguish associate readiness, talent gaps, and retention risks for succession planning purposes
- Onboard new hires
- Support and coordinate new hire training classes
- Ensure the efficient use of people, equipment, and finances
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Education, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of human resources experience; financial services experience a plus
- Supervisory or managerial experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive personal information with sound judgement, tact, and discretion
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
- PHR or SHRM certified preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS
To be successful in this role, you should have experience with and an understanding of the following:
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficient user of internet tools and social media platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to speak and hear. The associate is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. This job requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
