What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Services Officer – Native Title position at Equity Trustees?
Join our Native Title & Community Trusts team in providing culturally sensitive support and exceptional service to Aboriginal clients in Western Australia. As a Client Services Officer, you'll handle enquiries, assist with applications, and manage client interactions with compassion and professionalism. Your role is integral to ensuring compliance with trust policies and maintaining accurate records while fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and action Native Title client enquiries, advising on entitlements and assisting with application completion.
- Assess applications per trust deeds, policies, and procedures, including engaging with external stakeholders to distribute benefits.
- Maintain accurate beneficiary databases and records for Native Title claimant groups.
- Manage multiple enquiries across various trusts, ensuring adherence to specific policies.
- Enhance awareness and management strategies for vulnerable clients.
- Ensure compliance with trust distribution policies and identify/escalate compliance incidents.
- Support audit requirements and contribute to continuous improvement in processes.
- Attend trust meetings, prepare minutes, and coordinate follow-ups with Senior Management.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including monthly reconciliation of travel and store accounts.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Proven ability to engage sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and understand complex cultural needs.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach to managing heavy workloads and multiple priorities.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on confidentiality and empathy.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and database management.
- Experience in the Trustee or financial services industry or with specialised stakeholder groups.
