Job Description
The Director of Learning & Talent Development is responsible for leading the organization’s learning and development strategy. This role focuses on enhancing employee skills, fostering professional growth, aligning talent development initiatives with the organization’s goals and organization development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in designing and implementing effective training programs while fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Strategy Development: Create and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with the organization’s objectives and promotes a culture of continuous learning.
- Program Design: Develop, implement, and evaluate training programs that enhance employee skills and capabilities, including onboarding, leadership development, and technical training.
- Needs Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to identify skill gaps and training needs across the organization, utilizing feedback and performance metrics to inform program design.
- Leadership Development: Design and implement leadership development initiatives that prepare employees for future leadership roles and enhance succession planning efforts. Collaborates with global leadership and development on US and global initiatives.
- Performance Management: Collaborate with HR to integrate talent development strategies into performance management processes, ensuring employees receive the support they need to succeed.
- Employee Engagement and Survey Management: Leads all engagement initiatives for the US business. Including surveys through onboarding surveys, exit surveys, pulse surveys and pulse surveys.
- Learning Technologies: Leverage modern learning technologies and platforms to enhance training delivery and accessibility, including e-learning modules and virtual training sessions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, and external partners, to ensure alignment and support for learning initiatives.
- Metrics and Evaluation: Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and make data-driven decisions to improve future initiatives.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the talent development team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages professional growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Combination of equivalent work experience and education would be considered.
- 7 years of experience in learning and development, talent management, or HR roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong leadership and team management skills required.
- Proven experience designing and implementing successful learning initiatives and programs.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build relationships at all organizational levels and foster a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and other digital learning tools.
