Job Description
Serve as the first point of contact for individuals entering the SC Works Center in Spartanburg coming into contact with an average of 900 people monthlyPerform an intake assessment with each individual by asking open ended questions to determine the primary purpose for visiting the center
Maintain accurate records of each client visit using the VOS Greeter system to capture center traffic data
Design and update community information boards on upcoming job events, services available throughout the SC Works ecosystem, and relevant information from partner agencies
Prepare referrals to partner agencies, such as Adult Education and Vocational Rehabilitation, for additional services tailored to individual needs
Inform individuals about all the opportunities available through the WIOA Program including supportive services, eligible training fields, and on-the-job training positions
Follow-up with individuals that have visited any of the SC Works Greater Upstate Centers each quarter and compile feedback from their visits for the Operations Manager
Register individuals to take the WIN Assessment Test in both the WIN System and local calendar
Develop monthly in-house newsletter to communicate valuable information to staff
Collect completed customer surveys from clients and transfer the data to the appropriate system
Offer feedback to the Operations Manager on process improvements for customer intake flow

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and two years of college coursework OR
- High school diploma or GED and two years of customer service OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of experience working at Workforce Solutions and a recommendation from current or most recent supervisor
- Has knowledge of the workplace, jobs, and requirements for entry into those jobs.
- Is able to listen to customers, analyze expressed needs and use good judgment in suggesting how and who can help
- Uses tact, diplomacy, and persistence in providing suggestions to customers
- Is friendly, courteous and presents herself/himself as a professional
- Is able to handle effectively situations where a large number of customers want her/his attention at the same time
