Position Overview:
The Finance and Accounting Manager is responsible for guiding the organization's financial strategies, policies, and operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and maintaining the overall financial health of the organization. This role requires proficiency in standard accounting and finance practices and the ability to work collaboratively with the Leadership Team and departmental members.
Key Qualifications:
- Expertise in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and finance practices
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on effective time and priority management
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise Finance Team members, ensuring accuracy and productivity in their daily tasks.
- Financial Operations: Oversee and participate in bookkeeping and accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Reporting: Produce and distribute timely financial reports.
- Budget Management: Lead the development and monitoring of organizational and departmental budgets.
- Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal control strategies in collaboration with team members.
- Staff Development: Assist with hiring, training, supervising, and developing Finance Team members.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, manage debt, and optimize working capital.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to the Leadership Team.
- Systems Management: Oversee financial data systems and operational platforms to ensure financial efficiency.
- Compliance: Manage local, state, and other tax filings and compliance requirements.
- Banking Relations: Manage relationships with banking institutions and oversee cash flow.
- CPA Liaison: Act as the primary liaison with the organization’s CPA.
- Industry Trends: Stay informed about industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.
- KPI Development: Assist in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the organization.
- Project Management: Oversee finance and accounting-related projects as needed.
