Resinall Corp, an Ergon company currently has an opening for a Project Engineer in our Hattiesburg, Mississippi location. The Project Engineer will provide technical and engineering support as needed for the development, design, and implementation of miscellaneous projects as directed by the Maintenance and Engineering Manager. This role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment with business objectives, safety standards, and operational efficiency.
Job Duties

Primary Responsibilities
Ability to work in both office and plant environments, including exposure to fluctuating temperatures fromFrequent walking and standing required, with occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing, respiratory, and eye protection. Proficiency in using computers, including spreadsheets, statistical tools, and technical software. Occasional travel is required for site visits, project meetings, and business needs.

Job Duties

Primary Responsibilities

- Develop completed project design specifications from basic conceptual ideas with limited direction.
- Organize, prepare and conduct project reviews with key personnel to further develop project details.
- Monitor progress of assigned Resinall Corp projects to verify schedule and budget requirements are met
- Review project details and equipment with Maintenance personnel (supervision, engineering, technicians) to ensure maintenance interest are addressed.
- Prepare detailed project estimates and cost justifications for developing Authorizations for Expenditure (AFE), Project Approval Form (PAF) and other documentation as necessary for management approval of projects.
- Prepare and implement project schedules as needed for efficient completion of tasks utilizing all applicable workgroups and resources.
- Manage assigned projects from project approval through project completion.
- Secure and coordinate contract consulting, engineering and design services for supplemental design assistance as needed to accomplish project goals.
- Specify and procure parts and equipment as needed and verify compatibility with service conditions and applicable design codes.
- Create bid specifications and perform bid evaluations.
- Document all phases of project design, construction and installation to verify compliance with Resinall's specifications and code requirements.
- Initiate, participate in, and ensure the completion of the Management of Change Procedure, including Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, for project related activities.
- Ensure startup spares are secured for project related equipment prior to startup and recommend spare parts to be maintained for the life of the equipment.
- Ensure equipment files are created and maintained for project related equipment.
- Ensure drawings are updated as needed for assigned projects (plot plans, area classification, P&ID's)
- Act as a liaison between maintenance, contractors and operations during project execution and on issues relative to engineering design or support for technical
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Preferably in Chemical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering)
- Minimum of one year of project management experience within a petrochemical or industrial environment.
- Strong working knowledge of project management principles, budgeting, and scheduling tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in developing cost justifications and coordinating project approvals.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) practices and safety reviews.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and project management tools.
- Demonstrated experience in working with external vendors, contractors, and consultants.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
