Ergon Inc. seeks a full-time Training Specialist-Training Development to join our team. The Training Specialist - Training Development position is ideal for an Ergon employee who strongly desires to help other Ergon team members learn and adopt new technology and business processes. The position supports the Project Polaris Project Management Office (PMO) in helping transform how Ergon does business across all business segments. The individual assigned this position will work closely with Ergon subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop Ergon-specific project training material using standard templates. This position is on-site in Flowood, MS.
Training Specialist- Training Development Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Training Development
- Provides training development input into training project plans across a multi-phased project to track and report vendor and employee progress in developing and delivering project-specific training material.
- Uses recognized training methodology (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to produce and deliver training material to meet project objectives.
- Works with SMEs to determine specific training business needs to the task and learning objective level.
- Conducts research and collaborates with subject experts to understand specific needs and requirements of various organizations, including identification of preferred and best learning styles.
- Designs training materials to support the project including recommendations for packaging, delivery and tracking of training through the SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS).
- Develops e-learning, instructor-led and blended training material using Ergon provided applications.
Learning Management System Administration
- Uploads e-learning content via SCORM file to LMS for delivery to learners.
- Creates appropriate items, curriculum, and programs within LMS to meet program training requirements.
- Tests and troubleshoots e-learning modules to identify and resolve potential issues before launch.
- Assists Training Specialist with management of learners and activities within the LMS.
Quality Assurance
- Reviews 3rd party vendor-developed training material to ensure compliance with Ergon standards and ensures content meets specified objectives.
- Reviews training feedback to ensure learners have requisite knowledge and skills to perform project-related tasks.
- Make recommendations for training sourcing solutions (internal vs. external) based on cost, quality, timeliness and other factors.
Continuous Improvement:
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations and feedback mechanisms.
- Continuously update training programs based on feedback and evolving project needs.
Training Specialist- Training Development Job Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience with any Ergon business unit or 3 years of experience in adult learning or training development.
- Excellent organizational skills. Organize the required work based on given priorities, then track and complete that work on time while meeting all quality requirements.
- A demonstrated ability to break tasks down into individual steps and organize them into a logical sequence.
- Self-directed. The ability and desire to research a topic independently and either completing a task from that research or verifying findings with subject matter experts.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical concepts in English.
- Ability to quickly learn new software applications using on-line resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel to create, edit, and share information.
- Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization as well as vendors.
- Customer service skills, responsive attitude
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
Training Specialist- Training Development Desired Qualifications:
- Developing or delivering training within an Ergon business is desirable.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (E.g., Instructional Technology) or training development certificate from a recognized learning and development source (e.g., Association of Talent Development)
- Experience developing learning content to support various learning styles. Desirable experience includes: ADA Compliant Training, Kinesthetic, Visual and Auditory
