Job Description : Ladder Logic and Structured Text Programmer with Beckhoff

Expertise

Position Overview : We are seeking a skilled and experienced programmer who is well-versed in both ladder logic and structured text programming languages, with a strong proficiency in Beckhoff automation technology. As a Ladder Logic and Structured Text Programmer with Beckhoff expertise, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for industrial automation projects. Your expertise in ladder logic and structured text, along with a deep understanding of Beckhoff systems, will be crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate functioning of these systems.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and implement control systems using ladder logic and structured text programming languages.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop technical specifications for automation systems.
Design and program Beckhoff PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) using ladder logic and structured text to control various industrial processes.
Create and modify HMI (Human Machine Interface) screens for operator interaction and monitoring of system parameters.
Configure and troubleshoot Beckhoff I / O (Input / Output) EtherCat modules and devices for seamless integration with the automation system.
Conduct thorough testing and debugging of control systems to identify and rectify issues, ensuring optimal safety, performance, reliability.
Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure proper hardware integration and system functionality.
Document technical specifications, programming guidelines, and system configurations for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in ladder logic, structured text programming, and automation technologies.
Provide technical support and assistance to maintenance and operations teams during system commissioning and operation.

Qualifications and Skills :

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A degree is desirable but not required with sufficient experience level or military background.

Proven experience as a programmer, with expertise in ladder logic, structured text programming languages, servo drives, and Beckhoff CNC control.

Understanding of safety standards and practices in industrial automation.

Strong knowledge of Beckhoff automation systems, including TwinCAT 3 Engineering software and hardware components.

Familiarity with industrial control systems and protocols such as EtherCat, Modbus, and Ethernet / IP.

Proficiency in PLC programming using ladder logic and structured text, with the ability to develop efficient, well commented, and maintainable code.

Experience in designing and implementing HMI screens using software like Beckhoff TwinCAT HMI or similar platforms.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues in complex automation systems.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable solutions.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Additional Skills :

Familiarity with other programming languages such as C , Python, or Java.
