Position Overview
Erie and Niagara is seeking an Underwriting Administrator for both our Commercial Lines Department. Responsibilities
- Requests information from agents as directed by Underwriters; Maintains diary on pending items to ensure that they are handled in a timely manner
- Prepares and processes policy quotations as directed by Underwriters
- Performs data entry of new applications, endorsements, reinstatements and cancellations into Policy Management System
- Reviews, approves and processes endorsements and cancellations within scope of authority
- Researches information to be utilized in the underwriting decision process; Gathers information on risks, organizes new files and forwards files to Underwriters
- Processes Underwriter requested Formal Cancellations and Conditional Renewal Notices
- Processes renewals on behalf of Underwriters
- Responsible for the distribution of daily emails, faxes, and indexing procedures
- Performs initial application review procedures for all lines of business
- May attend onsite agency product training sessions
- Reviews reports as directed by underwriting management
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management, which may include providing back-up and support services to other areas of the company
Qualifications
- Associate's degree is preferred
- Proficient computer skills in a Windows based environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form
- Pursuit of INS Designation is required
- Must meet pre-established data entry test standards
- Must work effectively independently and in a team environment
- Ability to organize work, set priorities and meet deadlines
Pay range for this position is $17-$20/hour depending on experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. The expected salary range for this position is displayed in accordance with the New York State Pay Transparency Law.
