POSITION: Operations / Event Set up
FACILITY: Bayfront Convention Center
STATUS: Part-time as needed
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
HOURLY RANGE: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour Service charge distribution program resulting in averaging an extra $1.00 per hour in pay
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bayfront Convention Center meets the needs of events of all types and sizes. It is well-suited for conventions, tradeshows, sporting, social, and entertainment events. The operations / event set-up position is a part-time, “hands-on” position assisting with event and building specific operations tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- He/she must have the ability to work safely and efficiently.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of team.
- Must have the ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
DESCRIPTION DETAIL:
- Set-up and tear down including: risers, chairs, tables, pipe and drape and other items as needed for events at facility
- Execute accurate and timely completion of room sets
- Handle folding chairs, stacking chairs, tables of various shapes and sizes, drapery and skirting.
- Operate an assortment of equipment including: forklifts, pallet jackets and more
- Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients
- Provide additional duties as directed, primarily in the Operations Housekeeping position
