Definition of Class
- This is an intermediate level administrative position requiring minimal supervision, responsibility and independence in performing administrative duties of average to great difficulty. This position reports to the Director of Business
- & Economic Development.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares the annual department budget and payment authorizations and reconciles budget with authorizations submitted to comply with grant specifications.
- Outreach to the business community throughout Erie County to identify the needs and challenges and make referrals to Economic Development Organizations (EDOs).
- Engage and maintain relationships with local and regional EDOs.
- Coordinate activities on Workforce Development initiatives.
- Maintain database of economic development activities.
- Monitors compliance with policies, regulations, and laws. Conducts grant research.
- Prepares or assists in preparation of grant submissions.
- Coordinates with other departments to resolve administrative issues or requests. Completes department fixed asset inventory.
- Maintains operational efficiency through process improvement.
- Administrative support to the Director and Assistant Director.
- The successful candidate will be a team player that is resourceful and willing to collaborate and adapt work to the needs of the department.
- Performs other duties as required.

- Thorough knowledge of economic development systems.
- Ability to compose a variety of correspondence, meeting notes, and essential documentation with minimal instruction

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional or volunteer experience, or an equivalent combination of related education or experience.
- Advanced Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must have a Valid Driver's License
