The custodian ensures that Erie sites are clean and present a positive first impression for employees, patients, and visitors by performing general daily cleaning functions in all facility areas, as necessary

- Compensation is based on each candidate’s experience, skills and education within the range identified for the role. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements of the role will start at entry in the range. Any additional skills, experience and education will be reflected in the compensation offered.
- Performs general daily cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, washing of surfaces in facilities areas, clinical areas, exam rooms, restrooms, laboratories, hallways, stairs, offices, etc.
- Reports any repairs as needed to the Facilities Manager.
- Collects and disposes of hazardous waste receptacles following established safety and infection control procedures.
- May be required to perform special projects as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
- Perform duties at any Erie site, as necessary
- Performs other duties or projects as required under the direct supervision of Facilities leadership.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
Preferred:
- Experience in custodial or housekeeping work is a plus.
- Experience in healthcare custodial work is a plus.
Required:
- Basic literacy skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
- Willingness to learn how to work on a computer as needed to clock in and complete required training.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
