What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Mill Operator-2nd Shift position at Erie Industrial Products LLC?
Location: Oberlin, Ohio (on-site)
Hours: Monday-Friday 2:30 pm-11:00 pm
The CNC Mill Operator performs intermediate CNC setup, operation, maintenance, and knowledge of CNC machines within the machine shop. This role involves the precision of machining parts to tolerances and specifications while strictly following safety and procedural guidelines. The CNC Mill Operator can work consistently, quickly, and accurately without compromising quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge of reading production instructions, processes, and procedures, including interpreting and translating engineering designs and documentation.
- Set up and operate CNC mills and grinders to produce parts according to blueprints, specifications, and holding of part tolerances.
- Identification and knowledge of basic fixturing, changing fixtures, tooling, and tooling offsets.
- Understand G and M Codes and make necessary edits for speeds/feeds.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as mics and calipers to ensure that parts meet quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborates with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to resolve technical issues and improve production processes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly working environment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Good handeye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Basic math skills along with mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and follow verbal and written directions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Working Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature variations.
- Walking or standing on the Plant floor.
- Frequently required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds without help.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Three to five years of CNC machine operations in a manufacturing environment.
