- Conducts risk assessments to evaluate and analyze ERIE's operations to determine potential liabilities or risks due to non-compliance. Partners with first line of defense management and other risk assurance teams to proactively identify, assess, report, recommend and monitor mitigation, and recommend prioritization of compliance and ethics risk exposures in the context of philosophy statements, appetite statements, and tolerances.
- Works to establish, implement and monitor processes necessary to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Performs tests of compliance and evaluates controls related to compliance risk exposures.
- Collaborates with and provides guidance to business areas on the development of risk-specific mitigation plans.
- With minimal guidance, prepares recommendations and leads initiatives to enhance the Compliance Program which could include consistent identification, assessment, mitigation, reporting, and monitoring of risks related to business processes, people, and technology.
- Develops, maintains, and enhances compliance tools to conduct and monitor risk assessments.
- Assists in the development and preparation of reports, metrics and communications to various corporate stakeholders including business process leaders, senior leaders, executive leaders, and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors to convey the outcomes of compliance related risk assessments.
- Supports requests from internal partners for compliance risk assessments information and total cost of risk.
- With minimal guidance, prepares recommendations and leads highly complex initiatives for the Compliance program that seeks to improve compliance risk management effectiveness through coordination, collaboration, and automation that are aligned with other risk assurance functions.
- Works with members of Compliance to identify state requirements, NAIC market regulation standards and industry findings related to regulatory compliance risks.
- Serves as an expert resource and works with others in Compliance to serve as the primary advisor for compliance risk management matters of the highest complexity.

- Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline, and seven years' experience in insurance, risk management, or related business analysis experience required; or
- Associates degree in a business-related discipline, and nine years' experience in insurance, risk management, or related business analysis experience required; or
- High school diploma and eleven years' experience in insurance, risk management, or related business analysis experience required.
- Knowledge of compliance risk preferred.
- Working knowledge of risk assessments required.
- Working knowledge of regulatory processes preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
- Familiarity with database software and SharePoint preferred.

Position Summary
This position is responsible to monitor, assess and work with management to mitigate the organization's overall compliance risk exposures and changes to those exposures on an ongoing basis to provide assurance of compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
