Job Description
1) Prepare, review, and submit facility and professional claims using billing software and clearinghouse systems, ensuring timely processing within payer filing limits.
2) Identify, correct, and reprocess rejected claims promptly to minimize delays in reimbursement.
3) Monitor and follow up on unpaid claims, contacting payers to address issues within standard billing cycle timeframes.
4) Review payments for accuracy, ensuring full reimbursement on charges.
5) Bill secondary or tertiary insurance payers as necessary and follow up on denied, excluded, or exception claims to ensure timely resolution.
6) Communicate with payers and other stakeholders to resolve billing inquiries, claim discrepancies, or reimbursement obstacles effectively.
7) Manage accounts receivable by tracking payments, resolving discrepancies, and assisting with the collection of outstanding balances when needed.
8) Stay informed on local regulations, billing requirements, and changes in coding practices to ensure compliance.
9) Organize and submit necessary documentation for record requests, appeals, or additional information as requested by payers or auditors.
10) Review records for completeness and accuracy prior to billing to ensure compliance and successful claim submission.
11) Maintain accurate and organized records of all billing activities, communications, and payments for reference and reporting purposes.
12) Regularly attend department meetings to stay aligned with team goals and updates.
13) Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a related subject area. FBI, PA Child Abuse, and Criminal Record Check required. Valid PA driver’s license preferred.
