Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the machines, mechanical equipment, and structures in good repair for the Zoo and ice arena.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Implements preventative maintenance measures on equipment, buildings, and vehicles
· Completes work orders as assigned by Facilities Manager
· Acquisition of supplies and materials for assigned jobs
· Seasonal start-up and shut down of buildings and equipment
· Performs amusement ride inspection of train, train tracks and carousel, maintenance and operator training. Obtains ride inspector license.
· Ensures that vehicles are maintained and inspected on a continuing basis, including the Zamboni, tractor and gators
· HVAC preventative maintenance and repair
· Basic carpentry, plumbing, welding, painting, and electric work
· Conduct and document required inspections of equipment
· Ensures the safety of visitors, staff, and animals while conducting work
· Operates various pieces of equipment and hand tools
· Assists with ice making equipment operations, including start up, maintenance, and close down of the ice rink system
· Assists with building and new exhibit construction as directed by the Facilities Manager
· Other duties as assigned
Skills & Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Takes initiative and effectively presents ideas and concepts.
Qualifications: Previous maintenance experience. Ability to operate power and hand tools. Must have valid driver’s license. Knowledge and experience with the safe use and maintenance of large equipment such as tractors and fork lifts.
Work environment: Zoo grounds and building, shop and ice arena. Must be available weekends, weekdays, holidays, and on call hours.

Pay: $19.22 - $19.82 per hour
