About the Role
We are seeking a Saw Operator to join our 2nd shift team. Responsible for cutting materials to meet customer requirements/specification which are supplied to operator through internal work copies.
Responsibilities include:
- Set-up and operate all saws as required.
- Retrieve and replace inventory (raw materials) as required, protecting the integrity of the inventory management system, including cycle counts.
- Work through supervisor to maintain proper inventory levels.
- Work through supervisor to make necessary drawing and/or routing changes as necessary.
- Perform necessary cleaning operations on materials as required using grinders, sanders, files, solvents, etc.
- Issue and deliver raw material items as required using forklifts and cranes when necessary.
- May need to operate power equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts.
- Operate overhead cranes and clamping devices.
- Load/unload trucks as required using forklifts and cranes when necessary.
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
- Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma and/or GED
- Forklift experience
- Experience of the operation of a saw
- Ability to set-up and operate saws.
- Ability to use measuring tools to verify accuracy of cut materials.
- Visually identify hot rolled, cold rolled, stainless steel, mild steel and other materials.
- Follow work lists using company packets
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and use basic shop math including decimals and fractions.
- Check material, inventory transactions, unload trucks, put materials away and pull materials as required, cycle counts.
- Communicate with Purchasing to troubleshoot issues and plan material orders.
- Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.

Hourly pay: (starting from) $16.84/hr.
