About the Role:
An Assembler is responsible for putting together component parts or pieces adhering to a specified set of blueprints or schematics. They verify the correct quantities of components parts and quality checking completed items, manage parts inventory, and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products and structures. This position ensures customer satisfaction by providing safe, reliable operation of Eriez equipment that is intended to protect our customers and their customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Use specialized tools and fixtures electrical and mechanical to complete assembly.
- Advanced electrical knowledge to connect power to electrical devices.
- Able to assemble and charge basic magnetic circuits.
- Able to operate the ceramic saw.
- Work where needed, as directed by immediate a supervisor or leadman.
- Willing to learn new job skills pertaining to magnetic assembly and other assigned duties.
- Willing and able to work with others as required.
- Perform other similar and related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or leadman.
- Mechanical experience preferred.
- Stand, sit, push, pull lift up to 50lbs.
- Maintain clean and safe work area.
- Complete tasks timely and efficiently in accordance with expectations as directed by supervisor.
- Able to operate tools including but not limited to, hand tools, manual machine tools, torch, drill press, etc.
- Ability to learn Eriez labor and work order collection system.
- Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and use basic shop math including decimals and fractions.
- Able to read and follow engineering drawings, assembly procedures, instruction manuals and material/pick lists to complete assemblies.
- Able to use specialized mechanical tools/fixtures to complete assembly.
- Able to use epoxies and adhesives as required in assembly applications.
- Able to work in a safe manner dealing with powerful magnets and high voltage.
- Perform assembly work in magnetic assembly and other assembly areas as directed by supervisor/leadman.
- Able to perform Mig and flux core welding tasks.
- Able to complete Rare-Earth magnet assemblies.
- Expected to train and assist new employees.
- Operate plasma cutter and ceramic saw.
- Ability to straighten material after welding.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Operate overhead cranes and rigging.
- Design, create and/or modify fixtures to improve safety and production.
- May need to operate power equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts.
- Advanced electrical knowledge to input VFD parameters and other requirements to initiate equipment run-off procedures.
- Able to mount control panels to equipment, run flexible conduit, wire and terminate devices.
- Able to assemble and charge all magnetic circuits and all Rare-Earth magnetic assemblies.
- Operate manual machine tools.
- Understanding of all products across multiple work areas within the department.
- Ability to utilize Eriez resources to independently access information required for trouble shooting resolution.
- Work independently and train others within the department.
Required Education & Experience:
- A high school diploma is preferred.
- More than 2 years of general assembly job experience or specialized training
- Knowledge of how to weld and operate a mig welder.
- Willingness to tackle a flexible schedule and on-time arrival for shifts.

Hourly Pay Range - $21.22/hr. to $25.55/hr.
