Director Of Pharmacy Services

Job Summary:
This position serves as Pharmacist in Charge of Erlanger Health Baroness Campus. The Director will coordinate and oversee pharmacy personnel involved with day to day operations and clinical services- develop schedules, review/enter payroll. Ensure operations conform with state regulations and Erlanger policies. Work with pharmacy operations manager to coordinate system-wide initiatives that affect the Baroness Campus. Collaborate with diversion/med safety pharmacist to ensure compliance as it pertains to the Baroness Campus. Work alongside PICs at all sites to standardize processes and facilitate staffing needs. Oversee clinical staff and clinical initiatives as they pertain to the Baroness Campus.

Education:

Graduate of an accredited pharmacy school with a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.

Three years of hospital experience with completion of pharmacy practice residency or five years' hospital experience. Manager or director experience.

Current and Valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Tennessee or be eligible to be licensed as a Pharmacist by reciprocation or examination.

Masters of Business Administration, or similar training

Department Position Summary:
The Director of Pharmacy on the Baroness Campus needs to work with multiple departments and service lines in a collaborative manner. This includes physicians, nurses, and other department directors. The Director of Pharmacy must be able to perform all duties of a registered Pharmacist and is required to have the ability to practice pharmaceutical care in a variety of settings and situations, possess sound judgment and organizational ability, and have above average written oral communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills.

Applicable job duties include providing oversight to operational, decentralized and clinical pharmacy services and all applicable staff. Annually prepare and support the budget. Responsible for inventory management and state board compliance for the campus. Provide support to the Technician Coordinator as it pertains to recruitment and technician needs and oversight. Collaborate with the Pharmacy Operations Manager as it pertains to the automated dispensing cabinets, eChart, and other system-wide operational initiatives that impact the Baroness Campus. Collaborate with the Diversion/Med Safety Pharmacist regarding audit issues on the Baroness Campus. Work collaboratively with the other PICs to provide staffing and guidance for practice standardizations as needed.

Facilitate the growth and development of pharmacists and the services offered at the Baroness Campus.
