Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the MRI Team Leader and/or the radiologist(s), performs a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative in utilization of MRI equipment to create high quality diagnostic images.
Education:
Required:
A graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program, or equivalent program. Reference: https://www.arrt.org/Education/ (compliant with all continuing education mandates).
ARRT (R) Certified, or ARMRIT
Preferred:
N/A
Experience:
Required:
Medical and/or hospital clinical experience
Basic computer experience (1-2 years work experience or college level classes)
Prior experience in MRI or an intensive on the job training session in MRI is required before taking call
Preferred:
Prior hospital and/or physician office background
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
ARRT, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance (ARMRIT Certified) compliant with all continuing education mandates. BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.
Preferred:
ARRT (MR) Certified or ARMRIT Certified
CPR certified.
Department Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the MRI Team Leader and/or the radiologist(s), performs a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative in utilization of MRI equipment to create high quality diagnostic images. Must be familiar with basic patient care and MRI exam procedures concerning patients requiring anesthesia or conscious sedation. Must be familiar with conventional MRI invasive procedures. Strict adherence to the Radiology Weekend Team Policy regulating working hours and time off.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients seen in the MRI Department.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient�s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient�s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit�s policies and procedures.
