Job Summary:
Provide a variety of patient and customer service related activities within the Erlanger Bledsoe Facility/Sequatchie Valley Emergency Department including answering phones, registering patients in and checking them out after patient visit and making patient appointments as needed. Serve as liaison between patient and clinical staff.
Education:
Required:
High School education or its equivalent in education achievement.
Preferred:
Medical terminology course desired
Training for computer competency
Experience:
Required:
One year reception experience or general clerical experience.
Preferred:
Prior Invision training desirable.

Department Position Summary:
Will assist the Erlanger Bledsoe Facility/Sequatchie Valley Emergency Department with general duties to include; but not limited to, greeting patients and the public, answering and screening telephone calls, scheduling patient appointments as needed, registering patients, checking patients in, checking patients out, obtaining accurate patient demographic information, preparing the medical records, and serving as the liaison between the patient and medical support staff. Filing, balancing charges and collections at the end of each day, making daily deposits, and accounts receivable, billing and insurance functions. Performs general office duties such as data entry and office and supply ordering. Assist with reports, TJC/DNV requirements, chart audits and other duties as directed.
