Perioperative Support Asst - Housekeeping - 7a - 3p - Weekend

Job Summary:
A specifically trained individual who performs a wide range of support functions that include cleaning the operating rooms to meet turnover of cases times, assist with patient positioning and extremity holding. This position requires assistance with lifting and moving of heavy patients and equipment. This position requires critical thinking skills, independent, self motivated and assertive to perform duties with out direct supervision, with exceptional organizational and communication skills. *An individual who can perform a verity of cleaning tasks to continually maintain the cleanliness of the departments assigned in a neat and sanitary condition.

Department Position Summary:
A Perioperative Support Assistant is a specifically trained employee who performs a wide range of support functions. Transports all patients to designated area, transports blood products, assist in setting up special tables and frames used for surgical procedures. Supports moving the patient from the stretcher to the table. Hold extremities for prepping prior to surgical procedure. Cleans and turns over OR's between each surgical case. Stock supplies needed, cleaning all shelving and carts. Communicate with in room staff on a regular basis to see if they need assistance. Keep assigned work area in JCAHO/DNV readiness at all times. Routine cleaning assignments may include, but are not limited to the following: cleaning of the locker rooms, lounges, public areas, Surgical Services, S-tar unit, walls and floors, high and low dusting, wet mopping and terminal cleaning of the Operating Rooms.
