Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting the Manager of Accounting to the annual external audits and tax filing requirements. The position will provide support in the routine closing process and ensures deadlines are met for financial reporting. Handles high volume of transactions, prepares complex account reconciliations and has significant involvement in financial activity/analysis (as assigned). Other responsibilities include the development and maintenance of analytical and departmental reports and ensuring compliance with current accounting standards. The position is responsible for providing direction to other Accountants to ensure the financial statements are accurately presented and records are maintained in accordance with GAAP. Performs research and analysis of financial statement activity.

MBA or Masters with concentration in Accounting

A minimum of five (5) years previous accounting experience
Preferred:
Healthcare experience, Working Knowledge of PeopleSoft

Department Position Summary:
Assists the Finance executives and the Manager of Accounting in the preparation/maintenance of the general ledger to support accurate and timely financial data flows through the financial statement process. This position will be a primary contact for the annual external Audits and Tax filing preparations. Performs research and analysis of financial statement activity; including high-level financial projections and cash flow forecasting. Handles high volume of transactions, prepares complex account reconciliations and has significant involvement in the monthly general ledger closing process or related activity/analysis (as assigned). Support areas of focus such as Cash, Investments, Treasury, Non-Patient Receivables, FF&E, CIP, JV, Debt, Benefits, etc. Participate in the development of departmental policies and goals. Assess department activities and makes recommendations for process improvements. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Accounting.
