Material Handler Job Summary:
This position is responsible for accurately handling inbound, storage and outbound product for a wide range of clients. The person occupying this position is responsible for checking loads in and out along with verifying products on bills of lading and shipping documents.
Material Handler Duties/Responsibilities:
- Move, load and unload food products, materials, and/or packages by hand, pallet jack or forklift from trucks and railcars
- Handle paperwork and scanners to ship and receive client’s food product accurately.
- Pick orders, select product, and control inventory, as necessary.
- Transfer data manually and electronically to co-workers and inventory control
- Monitor warehouse inventory through cycle counts
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse through various sanitation duties assigned
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Material Handler Required Skills/Abilities:
- Attention to detail and strong mathematical ability is critical
Material Handler Education and Experience:
- Required: One year of warehouse work
Material Handler Physical and/or Travel Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting on a forklift in cold conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
